Mashrafe XI beat Ashraful XI

Speedster Mashrafe Bin Mortaza-led Mashrafe XI made a clean sweep over Ashraful XI as his side won the 5th and final practice twenty20 match by six wickets at the Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium (SBNS) in the city Monday, reports UNB.
Batting first after winning the toss, Mohammad Ashraful-led Ashraful XI posted huge 189 runs for six wickets in the allocated 20 overs with in form Alok Kapali hammering 57 runs off 36 balls that included six fours and two sixes.
Number four Shakib Al Hasan also joined the party contributing 49 runs off 33 balls with three fours and two sixes while opener Tamim Iqbal seemed to find his rhythm back at the last moment making 42 off 27 balls with six fours and two sixes. Ashraful, however, returned to the pavilion being run out for a duck.
Spinner Abdur Razzak Raj grabbed four wickets for 30 runs in four overs while off spinner Mahmudullah Riyadh took one wicket for 47 runs.
In reply, opener Nazimuddin proved his mettle with a hard- hitting 74 off 43 balls that featured five fours and six sixes that enabled his side to reach the target of 191 in 18.2 overs for the loss of four wickets.
Skipper Mashrafe, batting at number three, was in the right mood as he hammered 45 runs off 30 balls with one four and four sixes while left-hand opener Junaid Siddiqui Imroze blasted 41 runs off 19 balls with three fours and two sixes.
Occasional spinner Ashraful appeared to be the most successful bowler for his side taking two wickets for 27 runs while Shakib Al Hasan and Ziaur Rahman shared the other two wickets.
Earlier, Mashrafe-led Green team won all the twenty20 matches -- the first by five wickets, the second by three runs and the third by nine runs -- against the Mohammad Ashraful-led Red team. Another practice match was abandoned due to rain.
