Memorable series for Dale Steyn

August 04, 2015 00:00:00

South African cricketer Dale Steyn holds up the Player of the Series Award during the ceremony at the close of the fifth day of the second Test match between Bangladesh and South Africa at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city on Monday —

It must be a memorable series for South African pacer Dale Steyn, who achieved a memorable landmark 400 wickets haul in the just concluded Test series against Bangladesh, reports BSS.

The South African bowling spearhead Dale Steyn has joined the 400 club in Test Cricket when he dismissed Bangladeshi opener Tamim Iqbal. He became only the second South African after Shaun Pollock to achieve this feat.

More importantly, he has become the second joint fastest in terms of matches alongside the legendary Richard Hadlee to reach this milestone, just behind Sri Lankan spin wizard Muttiah Muralitharan.

That is a massive achievement considering the fact that the pitches around the world are mostly flat these days.
