Mohammedan finish 4th in Premier Football League

Mohammedan Sporting Club finished fourth in the Nitol-Tata Bangladesh Premier Football League after beating Soccer Club, Feni by 3-0 goals at Bangabandhu National Stadium on Thursday, reports UNB.

Wahed Ahmed put Mohammedan ahead early in the 10th minute. Arup doubled the team margin in the 81st minute while Sifat sealed the fate of the match in the 90th minute scoring the 3rd goal for the black and white team.

With the day's outcome, Mohammedan secured 45 points from 27 matches with 12 wins, nine draw and six losses while Soccer Club, Feni finished 9th in the 10-team league bagging 18 points with two wins, 12 draw and 13 losses to complete their journey.

Meanwhile,  Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club completed the Nitol-Tata Bangladesh Premier Football League journey beating holders Sheikh Russell 2-0 at Bangabandhu National Stadium on Thursday.

Sheikh Jamal secured 64 points to become the new champions. The club earned the points from 27 matches with 19 wins, seven draws and one defeats.

Dhaka Abahani became runners-up securing 52 points with 14 wins, 10 draws and three defeats in the 10 team's fray.

Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club confirmed the new crown of the league with two matches to spare on July 15 beating Dhaka Abahani by a solitary goal at BNS.

Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra were placed 3rd with 46 points from 26 matches with 13 win, seven draw and six losses.

They will meet the relegated Uttar Baridhara Club in the last match of the league.

After the barren first half, Haitian forward Wedson Anselme fired the net first for Sk Jamal in the 87th minute of the match, his powerful grounder deflected off the feet of Jewel Rana and landed inside the post after hitting the crosspiece (1-0).

In the 2nd minute of three-minute stoppage time Wedson ran down the right flank and powered a half-volley past Russell goalie Biplob in the far post net (2-0).

Former defending champions Sheikh Russell finished 6th with 32 points from 27 matches with 8 wins, 8 draws and 11 losses.

Earlier, in the day's other match, Mohammedan Sporting Club beat Soccer Club, Feni by 3-0 goals secured 45 points from 27 matches with 12 wins, nine draws and six losses to be finished fourth.
