Khulna Abahani forced title contender Mohammedan SC to a 1-1 draw in a crucial second phase match of the B League at the Khulna Divisional Stadium Thursday, reports UNB.
With this, Mohammedan SC almost made their exit from the title race securing 39 points while bottom-ranked Khulna Abahani improved their position with 13 points, both playing 19 matches.
After a barren first half, Mamun put Khulna Abahani ahead in the 47th minute (1-0) while Farhad scored the equalizer for the 'black & white' Dhaka outfit in the 60th minute (1-1).
The day's other match between Abahani Limited and Sheikh Russell KC at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka was postponed due to unplayable condition of the ground.
Abahani Limited will now meet Sheikh Russell KC today (Friday) at 4:15pm at the BNS.
On the following day (Saturday), Arambagh KS will play Chittagong Mohammedan SC, also at the same venue
