Mohammedans continue their winning spree

Title aspirants Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club scraped home by a solitary goal to maintain their position at the top of the points table along with their traditional rival Abahani Limited in the Citycell Bangladesh League by beating Farashganj Sporting Club at Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the city Monday, reports BSS.
Both teams failed to break the stalemate at the breather.
In form Bangladesh national player Zahid Hasan Emily continued his impressive touch as he scored the cherished goal for the black and white jersey just two minutes into the second half (47th minute).
Farashganj pressed hard but Mohammedans hung on to their solitary goal lead to the final whistle.
After the completion of the seventh round matches, both Mohammedan and Abahani maintained their winning spree without dropping any point and took their collection to 21 points.
Farashganj SC had to remain at six points also from seven encounters.
Today's (Tuesday's) matches: Sheikh Russell KC vs Chittagong Moha-mmedan SC (Kamalapur Stadium -- 2:45 pm); Sylhet Beanibazar SC vs Brothers' Union Club (Sylhet Stadium -- 2:30 pm)
