Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club (MSC) got back their winning touch with a 3-0 win over Brothers Union in the lone match of the Citycell Bangladesh League Tuesday, reports BSS.
The traditional black and white outfit, which drew 2-2 with lowly Farashganj SC in the previous match, saw their attacking duo Emily and Bukola hit the back of the opposition net.
Dammi Emmanuel scored the other goal. With this win Mohammedan raised their tally to 52 points, six behind table-toppers Dhaka Abahani, who are on 58, from 20 matches. Brothers Union remained on their previous collection of 21.
Mohammedan coach Maruful Huq, however, was absent from the field indicating his difference with the club's high officials.
Mohammdan SC were the dominating side of the two and they troubled the Brothers defence with swift counter-attacks. Brothers depended on their Ghanian duo of Stephen Yeboah and Ennock Bentil but they failed to live up to their team's expectation.
MSC took the lead from a penalty in the 25th minute. After Brothers keeper Sabuj Das parried Emily's spot-kick Nigerian defender Dammi placed the ball into the far post.
Bentil let Brothers down in the 43rd minute after Yeboah set him free with a nice through pass from the midfield but the forward's shot hit the feet of onrushing Mohammedan keeper Aminul.
Emily doubled the lead in the 52nd minute with a powerful header from a Waly Faisal cross.
Bukola sealed the fate of the match in the 71st minute when his perfect chip from a Komol long ball to beat the outstretched hand of an advancing Sabuj Das.
