MSC clinch Premier Div Women\\\'s Cricket title

Mohammedan Sporting Club clinched the 12-team Dhaka Premier Division Women's Cricket League title with all-win run defeating Abahani by 10 runs in DL match on the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Pratishthan (BKSP) ground-4 Friday, reports UNB.

With this result, champion Mohammedan SC earned 20 points with 2.220 Net Run Rate (NRR) from their ten encounters followed by Rupali Bank Krira Parishad who earned 14 points with 1.842 NRR, including their seven wins and two losses, while Abahani earned 14 points with 0.781 NRR that came off their seven wins and three losses.

In the day's match, favoured by coin Abahani opened the bat and scored 132 for all in 49.2 overs.

Number five Sharmin Akter scored team highest 47 runs off 137 balls with five fours while Shaila Sharmin (29) and Asfia Alam (not out 19) were the other double digit scorers for the side.

Skipper Salma Khatun grabbed five wickets for economic 14 runs in 10 overs while Rumana Ahmed took two wickets for 19 runs in 9.2 overs.  Tahin Tahera, Fatema Eti and Nadia Afrin took one wicket each for 15, 28 and 40 runs respectively.

In reply, Mohammedan SC scored 122 for 7 wickets in 43.4 overs before the match was halted by rain. Finally Mohammedan SC was declared the winner according to DL. At that time Mohammedan SC required 112 runs to win as per DL.

Rumana Ahmed, who was adjudged player of the match, scored team highest 55 runs off 97 balls with eight boundaries while Tahin Tahera (17) and Fatema Eti (10) were the other double digit scorers for the side.

Bristi Roy captured three wickets for 18 runs in 7.3 overs while Rasheda Rahman, Shaila Sharmin and Jahanara Alam took one wicket each for 18, 18 and 22 runs respectively in 9, 9 and 7 overs.
