Mushfiqur, Nasir fifties lift Tigers

Bangladesh national cricket team, now touring West Indies, scored 330 for 6 in 91 overs against St Kitts & Nevis team on the first day of the three-day practice match at Warner Park in St Kitts Saturday, reports UNB

Batting first after winning the toss, Bangladesh scored the mammoth total riding on unbeaten 144 runs in the 7th wicket partnership between skipper Mushfiqur Rahim and hard-hitting lower order batsman Nasir Hossain.

Coming to bat at number seven, Mushfiqur contributed 82 not out off 126 balls with five fours and three sixes while number eight Nasir Hossain scored unbeaten 78 runs off 122 balls with six fours and two sixes.

Earlier, Bangladesh lost four top batsmen-Shamsur Rahman (10), Tamim Iqbal (20), Mominul Haque (10) and Imrul Keyes-for 92 runs, but number five Mahmudullah pairing with Shuvagata Hom tried their best to repair the early damage scoring 46 runs in the fifth wicket stand.

Shuvagata Hom again partnered with captain Mushfiqur Rahim to add 48 runs in the 6th wicket stand to carry the team total to 186 in 53.4 overs before he was run out scoring 48 runs off 55 balls with eight boundaries.

QH Boatswain and J Lewis grabbed two wickets each conceding 35 and 36 runs respectively while EA Berridge took one wicket giving away 56 runs.
