Pakistan domestic T20 league confirms his signing

Bangladesh pace spearhead Mustafizur Rahman will feature in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), it announced on its official Facebook page, reports bdnews24.com.

Tuesday's post of Mustafizur celebrating in a Bangladesh jersey was captioned in bold letters: "Mustafizur Rahman - Welcome to a NewEra of PSL".

The 30-year-old fast bowler's signing comes just three days after he was controversially dropped from Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) ahead of the new Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

KKR had acquired him for Rs 91.9 million (9.20 crore) in last month's auction, recognising his brilliant form, but Indian political and religious protests over alleged minority persecution in Bangladesh prompted his release.

The Indian board subsequently instructed the team to drop him, straining India-Bangladesh cricket relations. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has since moved to shift T20 World Cup fixtures outside India and suspended IPL broadcasts locally, pending a reply from the ICC.

Mustafizur's PSL team has yet to be revealed. He previously played five matches for Lahore Qalandars in 2018, taking four wickets at 6.43 runs per over.

The new PSL season begins on March 23, three days before the IPL's start, expanding from six to eight teams with several changes aimed at ushering in a "new era" for the tournament.
