Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman returned to Chennai to join his side Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Sunday after completing his visa procedure, report agencies.
Mustafizur came back to Bangladesh from IPL on April 02 as the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) called him to complete the visa process for the USA where the T20 World Cup will be held alongside West Indies in June.
Mustafizur was the part of CSK in the first three matches and took seven wickets so far to occupy the second spot. Chennai played the last game without him and lost the game.
However, CSK will take on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) today (Monday) and Mustafizur is expected to be available for the selection.
Meanwhile, despite Mustafizur Rahman missing out on Chennai Super Kings' recent IPL 2024 fixture against Sunrisers Hyderabad, the Bangladesh pacer remained in second position of the Purple Cap race with seven wickets.
Gujarat Titans (GT) pacer Mohit Sharma occupies top spot in the IPL 2024 Purple Cap race with seven wickets and is followed by Mustafizur. Sharma boasts a better economy than the Bangladesh cricketer. LSG's new sensation Mayank Yadav remains in third position with six wickets, and is followed by RR's Yuzvendra Chahal (6) and DC's Khaleel Ahmed (6) in fourth and fifth respectively.
