National age group swimming begins tomorrow

The Saif Power Battery 32nd National Age Group Swimming and Diving competition (boys and girls) will begin tomorrow (Sunday) at Syed Nazrul Islam Swimming Complex at Mirpur, reports BSS.

A total of 789 boys and girls from 71 teams, including one divisional sports association, 23 district sports associations, 45 swimming clubs, Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothistan and Bangladesh Ansar, will take part in the three-day meet.

However, the number of the final players will be fixed after medical Test which will be held today (Saturday).

In the age group competition, boys and girls in five groups (U-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-17 and 18-20) will take part in the meet, sponsored by Saif Powertec Limited and organised by Bangladesh Swimming Federation (BSF).

Saif Powertec Limited handed over a cheque for Tk 2.0 million to run the meet.

It was disclosed at a press conference held at the Bangladesh Olympic Association auditorium on Friday to provide all the details of the meet.

BSF general secretary MB Saif, BSF joint secretary and tournament committee's chairman Selim Mia, BSF treasurer Rezaul Hossain Badsha, Saif Powertec Limited director M Ruhul Saif were present, among others, on the occasion.
