Five matches of the men's singles in the Citycell 30th National Badminton Championship was decided on the opening day at the Wooden Floor Gymnasium here on Friday, reports UNB.
Zahid Ahsan Russell MP, chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee of Youth and Sports Ministry, formally inaugurated the meet as chief guest in the afternoon.
Opening day matches: Rakibul (Dhaka DSA) beat Ashim (Shariatpur DSA)
21-06, 21-19, Pesta (Bogra DSA)) defeated Shah Alam (Gaibandha DSA)
21-7, 21-6, Belal (Satkhira DSA) outplayed Rumman (Sunamganj DSA) 18-21, 21-17, 21-12 while Iman (Gopalganj DSA) outclassed (Manikganj DSA) 21-09, 21-09.
