National Summer Athletics to begin Sunday

Walton Smart TV 12th National Summer Athletics competition (boys' and girls') will begin Sunday at the Bangagabndu National Stadium, reports BSS.

State Minister for Youth and Sports Sri Biren Sikder, MP, is expected to inaugurate the two-day meet as the chief guest. Walton (RB Group) additional director, head of games and sports, FM Iqbal Bin Anwar will present as special guest.

A total of 700 athletes from different universities, physical colleges, services teams, Bangladesh Railway, Bangladesh Potal Division and education boards from 64 districts across the country are expected to compete in 36 events of the meet, sponsored by Walton.

Bangladesh Athletics Federation (BAF) will award cash prize of Tk 5000.00 among the athletes, who will create new national record in the competition.

Beside, Walton will also provide attractive gifts to the new record holders.

In this regards, a press conference was held on Monday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium conference room to give all the details of the meet.
