National team wins both 20-20 practice matches

Bangladesh national cricket team for the Twenty20 World Championship won both of their practice matches against BCB Academy team at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in the city Tuesday, reports UNB.
The national cricketers beat the Australia-bound Academy team by 60 runs in the first Twenty20 practice match while they earned a five-wicket victory in the 2nd match.
In the first match, the national team piled up 144 runs for nine wickets in the stipulated 20 overs with dashing batsman Aftab Ahmed Chowdhury topscoring 46 runs.
Left-handed middle order Sakib Al Hasan scored 33 runs while Alok Kapali made 21.
Pacer Dollar Mahmud scalped three wickets for 30 runs while Naim Islam took two wickets for 17 runs.
In response, the Academy team were bundled out for just 84 runs in 19 overs in the face of some tight bowling by the national team.
Nazimuddin Faruq scored innings' highest 21 runs while Sakib Al Hasan claimed three wickets for 12 runs. Left-arm spinner Razzak took two wickets giving away five runs.
In the 2nd match, the Academy team batted first to score a moderate 103 for six wickets in the allocated 20 overs with skipper Mehrab Hossain Jr. contributing 39 runs. Naim Islam made the 2nd highest 33.
Pace spearhead Mashrafee Bin Mortaza took two wickets for 13 runs while Razzak two for 25 runs.
In response, the national team comfortably reached their target of 104 runs in 17.2 overs at the loss of five wickets.
Captain Mohammad Ashraful contributed match highest 45 runs while Sakib was the other notable scorer with 15.
Dollar Mahmud snatched two wickets for the Academy team giving away 16 runs.
The national team plays another practice match Wednesday against the same opponents at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.
