Nat'l cricket squad resumes practice with new skipper

After a day's recess, Bangladesh cricket team resumed practice along with new captain Mohammad Ashraful at the Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium (SBNS) in the city Saturday, ahead of the upcoming Sri Lanka tour, reports UNB.
The full national squad, except vice-captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and veteran spinner Mohammad Rafique, joined the day's camp under the supervision of coach Shaun Williams. Williams, who missed the first day's practice session as he was abroad, returned to Dhaka Friday.
Mashrafe and Rafique are currently accompanying the Asia squad for the Afro-Asia Cup ODI Series in India. Apart from Ashraful, opener Tamim Iqbal, Abdur Razzak Raz and Shakib Al Hasan, who also could not join the first day's camp Thursday, did first full stretch practice Saturday.
In the day's session, the Tigers had net session and endurance enhancing exercises during the first part of the practice. After the lunch break, they did some fielding practice.
During a break in the morning session, the newly elected captain, Mohammad Ashraful, said he is really optimistic of putting up a good show in Sri Lanka.
