KARACHI, Jul 23 (AFP): Pakistan Wednesday recalled dashing opener Imran Nazir and all-rounder Rana Naved-ul-Hasan for the 16-man squad that will face Sri Lanka in the the five-match one-day series starting next week.
The duo had been banned by Pakistan Cricket Board after joining the unrecognised Indian Cricket League (ICL) and were overlooked for the national team in 2007.
A high court suspended the bans in February, paving their way for return to national and international cricket.
The PCB last month announced that most of the ICL players were now eligible to play for Pakistan after they submitted "no objection certificates" from the ICL and would be considered for selection in the national team.
The 27-year-old Nazir played the last of his 74 one-day matches against India in 2007 before defecting to the ICL later that year. He has so far scored 1,784 one-day runs.
Naved, a quality one-day all-rounder who also plays for Yorkshire county in the English season, played his last one-day against the West Indies in the 2007 World Cup held in the Caribbean.
