Bangladesh Navy and Faridpur DSA reached the final of the ATN Bangla Gold Cup 30th National Hockey Championship eliminating their rivals in the semis at the Maulana Bhasani National Stadium in the city Sunday, reports UNB.
Bangladesh Navy eliminated Bangladesh Army, beating them by 5-3 goals in the first semifinal.
Moinul Islam Koushik made a hat-trick while Krishna Kumar Das and Rasel Mahmud Jimi netted one each for the sailors' team in the first semifinal.
Rokonuzzaman, Shuvo Kumar Ghosh and Milan Hossain scored one each for the Armymen.
In the day's 2nd semifinal, Faridpur DSA eliminated Dhaka DSA beating them 2-1 goals.
Pushkar Khisha Mimo and Musa Miah scored for Faridpur DAS while Maksud Alam Habul scored for Dhaka DSA.
The 3rd place-deciding match will be held today (Monday) at 11 am while the final match will be held on the same day at 3:10 pm at the same venue. ATN Bangla will telecast live the final match. Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports Arif Khan Joy will be the chief guest in the final while chairman of ATN Bangla and ATN News Dr Mahfuzur Rahman will be the special guest in the final.
