Bangladesh Test cricketer Nayeem Hasan, who recently faced assault and harassment -- allegedly by police last week - said he has been recovering from the hard to overcome trauma as much as possible, reports bdnews24 Bangla.

The off-spinner, currently in Sylhet for the ongoing unofficial Test series against Zimbabwe A team, has been spending his leisure playing video games and giving his wife and children time.

Nayeem alleged that he was assaulted by police while travelling home in a CNG-powered autorickshaw after arriving at Chattogram's Shah Amanat International Airport from Dhaka in the night on June 12.

According to him, police stopped the vehicle at Lalkhan Bazar and assaulted him before taking him to a police station.

The incident caused an outrage across the country. Later, Khulshi Police chief Md Arifur Rahman has been withdrawn from his post, and two more policemen were temporarily suspended.

After that incident, Nayeem stayed afloat from the trauma of the incident with cricket. With the advice of BCB doctors he joined Bangladesh Emerging Mens Team two days after to play the series against Zimbabwe A in Sylhet.

"After coming here (in Sylhet), no one has mentioned the incident (harassment at the hands of the police). During practice, I only talked about cricket. I thought about my bowling. I was able to focus completely on cricket. It gives me a lot of relief."

"Along with practice and matches, I am spending time with my family at the hotel. The hotel has facilities to play various games. I am spending time playing games here as well as playing on the field. I am trying to keep myself busy as much as I can. Thus, the incident has not been not affecting my thoughts."

Nayeem said that it has been easier to fight the tough times with his wife by his side.
