Nazrul Islam Memorial Football Tournament held in Tangail

A football tournament was held at Gosai Joair in Tangail in memory of Walton Group's founder chairman late Alhaj SM Nazrul Islam.
Mridul Songho organized the football tournament, says a press release.
Pichuria Jubo Songho of Baghil union emerged as the champion, defeating Eleven Star Club of Kalihati upazila.
The winning team was awarded a trophy, medals and Tk 1 lakh as prize money while the runners-up team received Tk 50,000 along with trophy and medals with Walton Group's sponsorship.
Agriculture Minister Dr Md Abdur Razzak was present at the award-giving ceremony as the chief guest.
Earlier, Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC's Chairman SM Nurul Alam Rezvi inaugurated the final match held on Tuesday (July 12).
Member of Parliament from Tangail-5 (Sadar) Sanowar Hossen, Member of Parliament from Tangail-2 (Gopalpur and Bhuapur) Tanvir Hasan Chhota Monir, Senior Presidium Member of Awami Jubo League Advocate Mamunur Rashid Mamun, Walton Hi-Tech Industries vice-chairman SM Shamsul Alam, DMD Amdadul Hoque Sarker, President of Mridul Songho SM Shoyeb Hossain Nobel, Walton's Senior Executive Director SM Zahid Hasan, Executive Director Azizul Hakim and Zeenat Hakim and Sadar Upazila Chairman Shajahan Ansari were, among others, present at the award-giving ceremony as the special guests.
SM Nazrul Islam Smrity Football Tournament is being organised since 2018 in memory of late Alhaj SM Nazrul Islam, founder chairman of Walton Group.
Mridul Songho, which was funded in memory of Mahbub Alam Mridul, late young director of Walton Group, organises the tournament every year.
A total of 16 teams participated in the tournament this year.
