Bangladesh's new archers Md Hakim Ahmed Rubel and Susmita Bonik were qualified for the elimination round with their highest ever feat in the Archery World Cup on Tuesday, reports UNB.
Rubel was 28th out of 99 archers with 658 score in the first day of the men's recurve single while Susmita ranked 18 of 55 archers scoring 681 in women's compound single of the ongoing stage 2 of Archery World Cup 2019 in Shanghai.
Among others, Roman Sana ranked 35th with 655 score, Md Tamimul Islam ranked 47th with 650 score and Emdadul Haque Milon ranked 68th with 640 score.
In the 1/48 games of the elimination round, Md Hakim Ahmed Rubel will face New Zealand's Finn Matheson (85) while Roman Sana will take on China's Ding Yiliang (78), Md Tamimul Islam will face Finland's Antti Tekoniemi (66) and Emdadul Haque Milon will compete against Patrick Huston of Great Britain (45).
In the women's recurve, Beauty Roy achieved 51 out of 76 female archers, scoring 612 and will now face Iran's Parmida Ghassemi (62) in the 1/48 games of elimination round.
In the men's recurve team, Bangladesh achieved 14th out of 22 teams.
Md Hakim Ahmed Rubel, Roman Sana and Md Tamimul Islam jointly scored 1963 for the country.
In the 1/12 games of elimination round, Bangladesh will face Belgium (19).
In the recurve mixed team, Md Hakim Ahmed Rubel and Beauty Roy jointly scored 1270.
The 18-ranked Bangladesh will face Australia (15) in the 1/12 games of elimination round.
In the compound division, Asim Kumar Das ranked 60th out of 65 in the men's single scoring 669.
In the 1/24 round, Asim will take on Malaysia's Wong Co Wan (53) while Susmita will face Singapore's Madeleine Ong Xue Li (47).
In the compound mixed team, the bottom place Bangladesh will face 15-ranked Japan in the 1/12 games of elimination round.
