Ninth round of first-leg BPL football begins today

The ninth and last round of first-leg Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) football begins today (Friday) with three matches are billed at three separate venues across the country, reports BSS.
On the day, table-topper Mohammedan Sporting Club takes on Fakirerpool Young Men's Club at Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla and holders Bashundhara Kings face Dhaka Wanderers Club at Shaheed Barkat Stadium in Gazipur, while Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society meet Bangladesh Police Football Club at Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh.
All the matches kick off at 2:45 pm.
In the remaining last round matches on the following day (Saturday), Abahani Limited Dhaka will play against Brothers Union Club at Bir Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj while Fortis Football Club face Chittagong Abahani Limited at Bashundhara Kings Arena in the capital.
After the eighth round, Mohammedan dominates the league table maintaining their all-win run in the league with 24 points from eight matches, while Fakirerpool stand eight positions in the table with six points playing the same number of matches.
Bashundhara Kings stand fourth in the league table with 14 points from eight matches, while Dhaka Wanderers Club stand ninth in the league table with four points from the same number of outings.
Old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society stand third in the table with 15 points, while Police FC stand seventh in the league table with seven points playing the same number of matches.
The sky blue Dhanmondi outfit Abahani Limited stands in second place in the league table with 19 points from eight matches, while Brothers Union Club is closely following Abahani with 14 points playing the same number of outings.
Fortis Football Club stands sixth in the league table with eight points from eight matches, while the port city team Chittagong Abahani Limited remained bottom at the table with three points playing the same number of matches.
