NSU retain Inter-Pvt Varsity Football title

North South University (NSU) retained the Mentors' Inter-Private University Football title beating Independent University-Bangladesh (IUB) by 4-0 goals in the final at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Kamlapur Saturday, reports UNB.
IUB finished runners-up in the meet for the second successive occasion.
In the day's final, Hridoy struck twice in the 42nd and 52nd minutes while Biral and Shawon scored one goal each in the 22nd and 38th minutes respectively for the winners which led the first half 3-0. Reefat of NSU was adjudged the best player of the final. Biral of NSU was named the best player of the tournament while Ijaz of the same team emerged the highest scorer of the meet. United International University received the fair play trophy.
Chief Executive Officer of tournament's title sponsor Mentors Educations Bangladesh Limited Khairul Hasan was the chief guest in the day's final and distributed the prizes.
In the day's final, Biral and Ishti of NSU, and Hamim and Farshid of IUB were cautioned with yellow cards.
Earlier, in the semifinals, NSU beat IUBAT by 6-5 goals in tiebreaker after the stipulated time ended in 1-1 draw while IUB defeated United International University-Bangladesh by 4-2 goals, also in tiebreaker, after goalless draw in regulation time.
