Rumana Khatun (Army) seen swimming at a swimming pool in Gazipur Monday. Palash Chowdhuy (Navy) and Rumana Khatun (Army) emerged champions in the 13th National Long-distance Swimming Competition in men's and women's groups respectively held in Gazipur Monday, reports UNB.
Foysal Ahmed (Army) and Ashiqur Rahman (Navy) finished runner-up and second runner-up respectively in the men's group.
In the women's group, Sonia Akter Tumpa (Navy) became runner-up and Sabura Khatun (Army) finished second runner-up.
A total of 12 swimmers from different services teams took part in the national meet organised by Bangladesh Swimming Federation. Six swimmers fought in each group.
Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque distributed prizes among the winners as the chief guest. Zahid Ahsan Russel, MP, was also present in the prize giving ceremony.
