Pioneer Football League likely to begin December 20

The North & South City Corporation Pioneer (Under-16) Football League, the biggest soccer league of the country, is likely to begin in the city on December 20, reports UNB.
Sixty teams, including 10 newcomers, split into 10 groups, will compete in the first phase at five city venues. Two top teams from each of the 10 groups will be entitled to play in the 20-team super league.
All the participating teams will receive appearance money of Tk 10,000 each while the super league teams will get Tk 15,000 each. The champion team will be richer by Tk 100,000 and the runner-up team will get Tk 50,000.
Deputy Chairman of the Pioneer Football League Committee Bijon Barua disclosed the details at a coordination meeting involving the
participating teams, league committee and sports journalists at the
BFF House Tuesday
Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports Arif Khan Joy, who is also chairman of the Pioneer Football League Committee, was present at the meeting as the chief guest.
BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag, Assistant Welfare Officers of Dhaka North and South City Corporations Humayan Kabir Khan and Afzalur Azam Reza, were also present.
