Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto believe that his teammates won't find it hard to change formats as they step into the two-match Test series against Zimbabwe following the ongoing Dhaka Premier League, country's Dhaka-club based list A tournament, reports Cricbuzz.
Bangladeshi cricketers are busy playing the ongoing DPL and scheduled to travel to Sylhet today (Saturday) after completing the tournament's last round of the first phase.
Arch-rivals Abahani Limited will take on Mohammedan Sporting Club at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in the city where several national cricketers will be involved who are expected to take the evening flight to reach Sylhet, where the opening Test is scheduled from April 20. "The players are returning to Test cricket after quite some time. I do feel that having two or three extra days for preparation would have benefitted us," Shanto, who is leading DPL's table toppers Abahani Limited, told reporters at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in the city on Friday.
"There's always a lot of expectation around this fixture (Abahani and MSC) and it's definitely a very important game but the players selected for the national team are already mentally tuning themselves to how they want to approach the Test series," he said.
