Bangladesh Police team clinched the men's title of the Walton Home Appliances 1st National Throwball Championship while Khulna Throwball Academy earned the women's title beating their respective rivals at the Bangladesh Kabaddi Stadium in the city Saturday, reports UNB.
Khulna Throwball Academy finished runners-up in the men's team group while Titas Club was placed third.
Magura Throwball Samity became runners-up in the women's group while Throwball Academy Bagerhat finished third.
Saikat Siddiqui of Titas Club and Nazma Akter of Khulna Throwball Academy were adjudged player of the men's and women's group respectively.
Secretary General of the Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) Syed Shahed Reza distributed the prizes among the winners as the chief guest.
First senior additional director of Walton and Bangladesh Throwball Association president FM Iqbal Bin Anwar was present at the closing function.
Thirteen teams-nine men's and four women's-took part in the two-day meet.
