Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club brightened their chances of super six berth in the Walton Refrigerator Dhaka Metropolis Premier Division Cricket League (DPL) as they notched an 8-wicket victory over Partex Sporting Club in a 11th round match guided by a Rony Talukdar unbeaten century at BKSP ground-3 in Savar Sunday, reports UNB.
In the day's two other fog-affected matches, defending champion Legends of Rupganj won against Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club by 6 wickets at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur while Mohammedan Sporting Club beat Kalabagan Krira Chakra by 22 runs at Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.
Following the day's results, Prime Doleshwar SC, Legends of Rupganj and Mohammedan SC, although tied on 14 points each from their 11 matches, are respectively 4th, 5th and 6th in the table, separated on the basis of net run rate.
Meanwhile, after the completion of the 10th round, Prime Bank Cricket Club retained the top slot bagging 18 points with nine wins and one loss to confirm their super six berth, while 2nd-placed Abahani Ltd also confirmed their super six berth bagging 16 points with eight wins and 2 loses.
Kalabagan Cricket Academy remained third with 14 points from 10 matches, ahead of the trio on 14 points from 11 games on net run rate.
Legends of Rupganj vs Sheikh Jamal
Sent in to bat first, Sheikh Jamal DC scored 167 runs for 8 in revised 45 overs with skipper Tushar Imran scoring team highest 64 runs off 107 balls with five fours and a six.
Nahidul Islam hit not out 43 runs off 34 balls with five fours and a six while number six Shohag Gazi (23), opener Myshukur Rahman (14) and number eight Arafat Sunny(11) were the other double digit scorers for their side.
Sharif Ullah grabbed three wickets for 13 runs in 5 overs; Abul Hasan took two wickets for 26 runs in six overs while Shahid, Azhar Zaidi and Shakib Al Hasan took one wicket each.
Chasing a target of 168 runs, Legends of Rupganj reached the target scoring 171 runs for 4 in 36.2 overs, spurred on by a 2nd wicket stand of 79 runs in 20.1 overs contributed by opener Tamim Iqbal and Zunaid Siddique.
Tamim Iqbal scored team highest 73 runs off 90 balls with 10 fours while Zunaid Siddique added 24 runs.
In the 5th wicket stand, Alok Kapali and all rounder Shakib Al Hasan contributed an unbeaten 42 runs in 6.2 overs to carry the team over thye line.
Alok Kapali scored 30 runs off 38 balls with three fours while Shakib Al Hasan hit 27 runs off 15 balls with three fours and a six.

Batting first after winning the toss, Partex SC scored 233 runs for all in 84.5 overs.

Skipper Mehrab Hossain Jr scored unbeaten 60 runs off 79 balls with four fours and a six while number six Rezaul Karim(31), opener Jony Talukdar(28) and Rajin Saleh(13) were the other double digit scorers for the side.

Batting first after winning the toss in a game reduced to 43 overs-a-side by fog, Mohammedan SC were all out playing 41.5 overs to score 194 runs.
Number six Ariful Haque scored team highest 83 runs off 107 balls with four fours and two sixes.
Ariful partnering with Rahmat Shah contributed 58 runs in 14.3 overs in the 5th wicket stand. Then for the 7th wicket stand, Ariful with Nur Hossain. contributed another 57 runs in 9.3 overs.
Rahmat Shah scored 33 runs off 46 balls with four fours while Nur Hossain (26) and skipper Mashrafe Mortaza (19) were the other double digit scorers for their side.
Shahadat Hossain grabbed five wickets for 40 runs in 7.5 overs while Anjum Ahmed took two wickets for 43 runs in 8 overs. Jupitar Ghosh and Abdur Razzak took one wicket each.
Set 195 runs to win, Kalabagan KC were all out for 172 in 42.2 overs. The closest thing they had to a threat was a 2nd wicket stand of 84 runs in 21.3 overs contributed by Shamsur Rahman and Jupitar Ghosh.
Shamsur Rahman scored team highest 47 runs off 78 balls with four fours and a six while Jupitar Ghosh 44 runs off 86 balls also with four fours and a six. Skipper Abdur Razzak(19) and number eleven Rockibul Hasan (not out 10) were the other double digit scorers.
