Proteas beat BCB XI easily

South African gave a strong warning to the Bangladesh national side ahead of their main battle of Npoly National Polymer Cricket Series with an emphatic eight-wicket victory over BCB XI in the only T20 practice match on the tour at the Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah Friday, reports UNB.
Though South Africa officially lost two wickets to end the chase, the BCB XI conceded a 10-wicket defeat as their bowlers were unsuccessful to claim any wicket.
Batting first after winning the toss, BCB XI were restricted for a meager score of 99 runs in 18 overs.
Skipper Imrul Kayes made 29 runs off 24 balls with three fours.  Number five Shuvagata Hom (18 off 19, 2X4) and Sohag Gazi (13 off 8, 1X4, 1X6) were the other double digit contributors for the side.
David Wiese grabbed 3 wickets for 13 runs in 3 overs while Kyle Abbott and Aaron Phangiso took 2 wickets each for 2 and 19 runs in 2 and 3 overs respectively. Kagiso Rabada, Eddie Leie and Jean Paul Duminy took one wicket each conceding 10, 11 and 16 runs respectively.
Chasing 100 runs, the Proteas opened their bat and reached the target easily scoring 101 for 2 in 12 overs.
The visitors made 64 runs in their opening stand in 7 overs between Quinton de Kock and AB de Villiers before both retired hurt.
Quinton de Kock scored the team highest 35 runs off 24 balls with six fours while AB de Villiers added 25 off 19 balls with four fours.
DA Miller and JP Duminy completed the remaining job contributing unbeaten 37 runs in 5 overs in the third wicket stand.
DA Miller and JP Duminy added not out 20 off 14 balls, and 17 off 13 balls respectively, both hitting one four and one six each.
South Africans 101 for 0 (de Kock 35, de Villiers 25) beat Bangladesh Cricket Board XI99 (Wiese 3-13) by ten wickets.
