Railway earn win over Victoria SC

Old horse Bangladesh Railway earned a facile 6-0 win over Victoria SC in the Green Delta Insurance Metropolis First Division Hockey League at the Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium in the city Tuesday, reports UNB.
This was the first victory for Railway team in their 2nd league encounter after conceding a 0-1 goal defeat against Mukta Bihanga in the league opener.
Towhiduzzaman struck three goals for the winners in the 10th, 21st and 51st minutes respectively-first two were field goals and the other goal was scored from a penalty corner.
Saddam Hossain scored two field goals in the very first minute and 45th minute while Khandakar Aqib Javed netted the remaining goal for Railway from a penalty corner in the 32nd minute.
Earlier in the day's first match, Uttara Hockey Club made a good start in the league beating Barnak Samaj, who have lost all their matches so far, by 3-0 goal at the same venue in the afternoon.
Bellal, Plabon and Krishna scored one field goal each in the 1st, 34th and 54th minutes respectively.
Today's matches: Shishu Kishore Sangha vs Mukta Bihanga (2:15 pm), and Bachelors Club vs Dhaka Wanderers Club (4:15 pm).
