The only T20 between Bangladesh and host West Indies was called off due to wet outfield following heavy rain just 17 minutes after the match began at Warner Park, Basseterre, St Kitts Thursday, reports UNB.
The match officials made the final inspection more than two hours later and declared the match abandoned as the conditions weren't good enough even for a curtailed over match.
Besides, there was also trouble with the floodlights which hampered the ground-staff in their work after the rain stopped.
The trophy was shared between Bangladesh and West Indies.
In the day's match, visiting side was elected to bat first after winning the toss and scored 31 runs in 4.4 overs without losing any wicket.
Opener Tamim Iqbal scored 11 runs off 9 balls with a boundary while Anamul Haque Bijoy scored run-a-ball 19 with a four and a six.
Bangladesh will now face the West Indies in the two-match Test series. The first Test match will take place on September 5-9 at Arnos Vale Ground, Kingstown, St. Vincent while the 2nd Test on September 13-17 at Beausejour Stadium, Gros Islet, St Lucia.
Before the Test series, Bangladesh will play a three-day practice match against St Kitts & Nevis on August 30-September 1 at Warner Park, Basseterre, St Kitts.
Pace bowler Mashrafe bin Mortaza is set to returning home for the Asian Games, as he is not part of the Bangladesh Test squad. Mashrafe has been named captain of the Bangladesh squad for the Asian Games.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh suffered a humiliating 0-3 ODI series defeat against host in the current tour.
