Rajshahi beat Dhaka South by 7 wkts

Shakil Hossain Sajib's six-wicket haul spurred Rajshahi Division to win against Dhaka Division South by seven wickets in a three-day match of the Young Tigers Under-18 National Cricket Tournament at the Cox's Bazar ground-2 Saturday, reports UNB.  The day's other match between Dhaka Division North and Dhaka Metro ended in a draw on the 3rd day at the Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox's Bazar.
Dhaka Division South (150 runs in the first innings) resumed the 2nd innings with overnight 52 runs for 2 in 24 overs and eventually scored 165 runs for all in 74.4 overs, riding on an overnight 3rd wicket stand of 82 runs in 38.5 overs, made by Rayan Rafsan and Mehedi Hasan Milon.
Skipper Rayan scored team highest 53 runs while Mehedi (29) and number nine Redwanul Islam (17) were the other notable scorers for their side.
Shakil Hossain Sajib stormed out grabbing six wickets for 28 runs in the 2nd innings and was adjudged man of the match while Manirul Islam and Musarat Safakat Alvi took two wickets each for 28 and 29 runs respectively.
To set 104 runs to win, Rajshahi Division (212 runs in the first innings) opened the 2nd innings on the 3rd day and reached the target for 3 in 33.4 overs, stimulated by an unbeaten 4th wicket stand of 72 runs in 22.5 overs, by Rahmatullah Ali and Asik Mostafa.
Skipper-cum-opener Rahmatullah scored not out 56 runs while number five Asik (not out 33) and Tohidul Islam (12) were the other double digit scorers for their side.
Redwanul took two wickets for 16 runs while Fahim Bin Nir took one wicket for 40 runs.
On the other hand, Dhaka Metro (234 runs in the first innings) resumed the second innings with overnight 18 runs for no loss in 10 overs and scored 175 runs for 5 in 66 overs before declaring the innings.
Overnight opening stand pair Shamim Iqbal and Shakib Murad contributed to 74 runs in 31.1 overs.
In the 6th wicket stand, number four batsman Aryan Fahim partnering with Omar Faruk made unbeaten 51 runs in 13.1 overs.
Shamim scored team highest 57 runs while Aryan (not out 39), Omar Faruk (not out 30) and opener Shakib (18) were the other notable scorers for their side.
Uday Bhuiyan and Rakib Mahamud grabbed two wickets each for 23 and 61 runs respectively while Taiyeb Alam took one wicket for 4 runs.
In reply, Dhaka Div North (204 runs in the first innings) opened the 2nd innings and scored 156 runs for 7 in 38.2 overs on the 3rd and final day.
Skipper Asadur Rahman scored team highest 31 runs while Uday (24), Pinak Gosh (22), Iftekher Amin (21), Shahibul Motin (not out 14) and Shahriar Rahman (14) were the other double digit scorers for their side.
Sentu grabbed four wickets for 48 runs in the 2nd innings who earlier in the first innings took three wickets conceding 49 runs for Dhaka Metro and was adjudged man of the match.
Shakib and Omar Faruk took one wicket each for 11 and 25 runs respectively.
