Runners up Rajshahi Division smell win against Barisal Division in the 7th round four-day match of the Ispahani Mirzapore Tea 9th National Cricket League as they require another 49 runs with 9 wickets in hand on the final day today (Saturday), reports UNB.
Chasing a target of 148 runs at the Shaheed Chandu Stadium (SCS) in Bogra, Rajshahi Division were 99 for 1 in 33 overs in their second innings at stumps on day three.
Opener Jahirul Islam remained unbeaten on 65 facing 94 balls that featured 10 fours and a six while Farhad Hossain was the other not out batsman with 19.
Barisal Division pacer Sajidul Islam took the lone wicket for 21 runs.
Earlier, Barisal Division resumed the day with second innings score of 48 for 2 in 17 overs, but were all out for 169 in 70.4 overs.
Skipper cum opener Shahriar Nafees, who retired hurt Thursday (11), resumed his innings Friday to make an unbeaten 65 off 141 balls with four fours while Raisul Islam was the other notable scorer with 27 runs.
