Rangpur, Rajshahi post wins

Rangpur Division earned their first win beating Barisal Division by innings and 40 runs while Rajshahi Divison won by 76 runs against Dhaka Metropolis in the 5th round matches of Walton Refrigerator 14th National Cricket League (NCL) at separate venues Monday, reports UNB.
Earlier, Sunday (Day 3), table-toppers Khulna inched closer to clinching this year's National Cricket League title with five wins in a row beating Sylhet Division by 10 wickets, while Dhaka Division thrashed Chittagong Division by innings and 69 runs to post their 3rd win in the season.
Rangpur Division vs Barisal Division:
At the Rajshahi's Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium, Barisal resumed with overnight 111 for 3 and could reach 229 before getting all out in 93 overs against Rangpur Division.
Earlier, Rangpur produced an astonishing turnaround scoring 514 (all out) in reply to Barisal's 245 in the 1st innings after being reduced to 48-5 on the 2nd day.
Rangpur rode on 144-run partnership between Dhiman and Suhrawardi in the 6th wicket, 99-run partnership between Dhiman and Mahmudul Hasan (54) in the 7th wicket, 103-run stand between Dhiman and Alauddin Babu in the 8th, and 114-run stand between Alauddin and Ariful Haque in the 9th wicket
Alauddin Babu was named man of the match for all-round performance.
Dhaka Metropolis vs Rajshahi Division:
Despite one down Asif Ahmed efforts of 216-ball 148 run knock featuring 18 fours and a six, Dhaka Metro (overnight 102/3) were bowled out for 326 in 100.1 overs on the last day, chasing 403 runs at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
National pacer Shafiul Islam and young left arm spinner Saqlain Sajib caused the major damage taking three wickets each for 37 and 101 runs respectively to help holders Rajshahi Division post their 2nd win of the season.
Earlier, in reply to Rajshahi's 256 in 1st innings, Dhaka Metro crumbled in their 1st innings getting all out for 129 with pacer Shafiul Islam claiming four wickets for 47 runs. Muktar Ali and Farhad Reza also took two wickets apiece.
Rajshahi Division scored 275 in 2nd innings with wicketkeeper Hamidul Islam top scoring 78 off 145 balls with eight fours and two sixes, while tail ender Shafiul Islam scored 32 runs and opener Myshuqur Rahman made 30.
Dhaka Metro off-spinner Sharifullah finished with match figure of 7-85, but Shafiul Islam was named man of the match for his match figures of 7-84 and not out 32 runs in the 2nd innings.
