Rani Hamid wins gold in C\\\'wealth Chess

Woman International Master (WIM) Rani Hamid of Bangladesh emerged champion bagging the gold medal in senior (over 60-year) in the Commonwealth Chess Championship held Wednesday in New Delhi, reports BSS.
Rani Hamid earned 5 points out of 9 games to clinch the gold.
Fide Master Mohammad Fahad Rahman brought the second medal for the country as he won bronze medal in open under-12 group at the same venue.
On the other hand, Gazi Habibur Rahman International Rating Chess tournament will begin Monday (July 6) at the Bangladesh Chess Federation hall Room in the city from 12:00 pm.
It is an open event for all chess players and it will be held in 9 round Swiss-League system.
Interested chess players have been asked to enroll their names with entry fees on or before Sunday (July 5) at the BCF office room.
A total of Tk 1,75,0000 cash prizes will be given to the winners.
