Ruman, Nasrin pair win gold

Bangladesh won gold medal in the recurve mixed team event of the ongoing 2022 Asia Cup World Ranking tournament stage-1 in Phuket, Thailand on Saturday, reports BSS.

The Bangladesh archery team comprising ace archer Ruman Sana and Nasrin Akhter pair brought the first success for the country as they beat their Indian rivals by 5-3 sets in the final to win the first gold in the ongoing tournament.

On the way to winning the gold, Bangladesh lost the first set by 34-37. However, Bangladesh did not give up the hope as Ruman-Nasrin pair staged a brilliant fight back and the second set ended 37-37 draw and eventually Bangladesh won the third and fourth set by 38-35 and 37-36 respectively.

Earlier on Friday last, Ruman Sana and Nasrin Akter pair set the final clash with India in the recurve mixed team event with a dominating performance eliminating their Kazakhstan rivals by 6-0 sets in the semifinal.
