Rupganj slip against Kalabagan

Defending champions Legends of Rupganj suffered their 2nd consecutive defeat in the Walton Dhaka Metropolis Premier Division Cricket League (DPL), losing to Kalabagan Cricket Academy by 3 wickets at BKSP-4 Sunday, reports UNB.
Earlier, Rupganj lost to Brothers Union by 5 wickets in Thursday's match at the same venue.
The Legends scored 194 runs before they were all out within their 50-over allotment.
Opener Jahurul Islam scored the highest - 58 runs off 96 balls with five fours and a six - while number four Azhar Zaidi made a quickfire 55 off 50 balls with 10 fours.
Mosharraf Hossain (27), Zunaid Siddique(24) and skipper Alok Kapali (11) were the other double digit scorers for their side.
Sharif grabbed four wickets for 46 runs from 9 overs while Bishwant Halder took three wickets for 35 runs off his 9 overs and Nabil Samad took one wicket for 28 runs off 6 overs.
Chasing a target of 195 runs, Kalabagan Cricket Academy nearly made a hash of it, reaching the target for the loss of 7 wickets in 49.1 overs. They could thank an opening stand of 132 runs, contributed by Irfaan Sukkur and Imtiaz Hossain.
Irfaan scored the highest 80 runs off 121 balls with eight fours while Imtiaz scored 64 runs off 101 balls with seven fours and a six.
Number three Phil Mustard (11), Sharif (not out 10) and Nafees Iqbal (10) were the other double digit scorers for Kalabagan CA.
Shohid grabbed two wickets for 31 runs in 10 overs while Nazmul Hossain, Azhar Zaidi and Mosharraf Hossain took one wicket each for 22, 30 and 44 runs respectively.
In the day's other fixture, Prime Bank Cricket Club beat Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club by 8 wickets at BKSP-3 while Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club won against Mohammedan Sporting Club by 32 runs at Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.
After the day's result, Legends of Rupganj slipped to third position from top slot securing 10 points from seven matches while Kalabagan Cricket Academy secured the second position, by virtue of higher net run rate, also with 10 points and Prime Bank Cricket Club advanced to top position securing 12 points with six wins and a loss.
