SA on track chasing 215

After the good work done in the field, South Africa came out and made steady progress towards their target in Centurion. Jacques Kallis accelerated after Graeme Smith's dismissal, batting like the world was his stage, and that brief period of domination put New Zealand on the back foot. Despite the assistance Daniel Vettori got from the track, South Africa held the advantage after 25 overs with AB de Villiers looking comfortable, reports Cricinfo.
Smith failed to get going, chipping Daryl Tuffey to mid-on, but Kallis littered five boundaries in no time without being risky. Warning of his intentions came early - an upright pull for four off the second delivery he faced.
25 overs South Africa 116 for 3 (de Villiers 24*, Duminy 5*) need another 99 runs to beat New Zealand 214 (Taylor 72, McCullum 44, Parnell 5-57).
