School chess tournament to begin July 12

The 9th Standard Chartered School Chess Tournament-2007, sponsored by Standard Chartered Bank, will begin on July 12 at the Chess Federation hall-room, reports UNB.
The tournament is open to all school students and no entry fee is required to participate in the meet.
Interested boys and girls can enroll their name on or before July 10 at the Federation office.
The tournament, to be held on nine round Swiss-League system, offers cash prizes to the winners apart from the trophies.
School students from India are also expected to participate in the meet, said a Chess Federation official.
