Shakib flies to England, will play for Surrey

He will not return to Bangladesh till the India series

Bangladesh allrounder Shakib al Hasan is set to play English County Cricket after a decade, confirmed by a Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) source.

Shakib will feature for the Surrey Cricket team and is expected to fly to England following the two-match Test series against Pakistan, report agencies.

After the County, Shakib set to tour India as Bangladesh are scheduled to play Test and ODIs from September 19 to 23.

However, Shakib is currently accused of a murder case and a former member of the dissolved government of the country and he was under heavy criticism for not supporting the protesters during the anti-government movement.

Shakib became the first Bangladeshi cricketer to play in the English counties when he was signed for Worcestershire during the 2009-10 season.

He appeared in 8 first-class matches for the second-division county team Worcestershire, he scored 358 runs at 25.57 and took 35 wickets.

The all-rounder also participated in the NatWest T20 Blast in 2013 while playing for Leicestershire. Shakib played in 10 matches scoring 146 runs and took 9 wickets.
