Shakib Al Hasan is back in world cricket like a king as he reclaimed the No.1 spot for ODI all-rounder rankings after the International Cricket Council (ICC) updated it on Wednesday, reports BSS.
The all-rounder was away from cricket for the last one year after being banned by the ICC due to his failure to report corrupt approaches of the bookies. His ban was lifted on October 28.
Shakib is now in the USA and is expected to return to Bangladesh today (Thursday). He will return to competitive cricket with Bangabandhu T20 Cup, which is likely to begin on November 23.
Shakib's name was erased from the rankings once he was banned from cricket.
The most influential player of Bangladesh is back in the rankings with 373 rating points, 72 more than second placed Mohammad Nabi of Afghanistan. Nabi's rating point is 301.
India captain Virat Kohli continues to occupy the No.1 spot in batting rankings while New Zealand fast bowler Trent Boult is No.1 in bowling rankings. The rankings were updated after the ODI series between Pakistan and Zimbabwe.
