Shakib to return to cricket with BCB's T20 tournament

All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is set to comeback to the competitive cricket with the domestic T20 tournament, organised by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), said BCB president Nazmul Hassan Papon, reports BSS.
Shakib's ICC imposed-ban that he is now serving for his failure to report corrupt approaches of the bookies, will end on October 28. Shakib will be eligible to play cricket from October 29.
"He (Shakib) will be eligible to play cricket from October 29. So he will play the domestic T20 tournament," Papon said in the city on Sunday.
The BCB has proved its ability by hosting the three-team one-day tournament, namely BCB President's Cup amid Covid-19 pandemic.
Now BCB is going to organise a bigger tournament with T20 format by taking confidence from the BCB President's Cup.
The T20 tournament will be held from November 15 where five teams will play. The BCB will soon float tender for the sponsors of the teams. Shakib Al Hasan will play in this five-team tournament.
Regarding Shakib's participation in the T20 tournament, the board president said, "Yes, he will play, that's for sure, we have talked to him.
