Shamit gets FIFA clearance to represent Bangladesh

Canada-based Bangladeshi footballer Shamit Shome has received official clearance from FIFA to represent Bangladesh in international football on Tuesday, the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) confirmed, report agencies.
The development comes just days after he applied for for a Bangladeshi passport at the Bangladeshi Consulate in Canada.
Prior to that, on May 01, he secured a release letter from the Canada Soccer Association.
After compiling all necessary documents, the BFF submitted an application to FIFA's Players' Status Committee, which subsequently approved Shome's change of association, officially allowing him to represent Bangladesh.
