Bangladesh's all-format captain Najmul Hossain Shanto became the highest paid player of the country, eclipsing all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan after the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) hiked his captaincy remuneration, reports BSS.

In the latest board meeting, the captain's remuneration was increased to Taka 0.1 million (1 lakh) from Taka 40,000. Shanto who is currently playing all formats of cricket, is a category A+ cricketer and draws Taka 0.79 million (7.90 lakh) per month.
