Australian coach Shaun Williams, who acted as the interim coach of the national cricket team during the just-concluded Sri Lanka tour, has been named national coach for the Twenty20 Cricket World Cup.
Renowned organiser and former cricketer Tanjeev Ahsan Saad has been made manger of the national cricket team for the Twenty20 Cricket World Cup to be held in South Africa in September next.
The decision was taken in the first meeting of the newly constituted ad hoc executive committee of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) held Wednesday at its Navana Tower office in Gulshan with its president Maj Gen Sina Ibn Jamali in the chair.
Of its 12 members, 10 were present in the meeting, except Mirza Salman Ispahani and Selim Bhuiyan. They could not attend the meeting as they are out of the country, reports UNB.
The meeting decided to appoint a new coach for the national team after the Twenty20 Cricket World Cup.
The BCB meeting formed 16 standing committees and a three-member another committee to choose national selectors as the tenure of two national selectors -- Faruque Ahmed and Athar Ali Khan -- is going to expire on August 31.
Members of the three-member committee are: Chairman- Shafiqur Rahman Munna, Vice-chairman- Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu and member Ishtiaque Ahmed.
