Sheikh Moni Memorial Int\\\'l Chess begins

The game of the Shaheed Sheikh Moni Memorial International Rating Chess tournament, organised by Golden Sporting Club under the guidance of the Bangladesh Chess Federation, began Sunday at the National Sports Council Tower Auditorium in the city, reports BSS.
A total of 138 players, including GM Ziaur Rahman, IM Abu Sufian Shakil, WIM Rani Hamid, six FIDE Masters, three players from Nepal and two players from India, are participating in the event.
The event is being held in 9 round Swiss-League system in six days. The winners of the tournament will receive some of Tk 170000 cash as prize money.
The 2nd round games starts today (Monday) around 10.30 am at the same venue.
