Bangladeshi shooter Sharmin Akter Ratna was placed 3rd in the qualifying round to reach the final round of the Women's 10-metre Air Rifles in the 20th Commonwealth Games Shooting at the Barry Buddon Shooting Range in Glasgow, Scotland Saturday, reports UNB.
South Asian Games gold winning Bangladeshi shooter Ratna scored 413.8 to finish 3rd in the qualifying round among the 26 competitors of the events.
Another Bangladeshi shooter Syeda Sadia Sultana finished 10th in the event scoring 410.8 and was eliminated from the race.
Apurvi Chandela of India finished top in the qualifying round scoring 415.6 points while Martina Veloso of Singapore became 2nd scoring 414.9 to reach the final round.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh shooter Abdullah-Hel Baki won the silver medal in the Men's 10-metre Air Rifles event on Friday. It was the first medal for Bangladesh in the ongoing 20th C'wealth Games.
Asif Hossain Khan of Bangladesh clinched the gold medal in the men's 10 meter air rifles in the Manchester Commonwealth Games in 2002.
