SHPC take 457-run lead against Bangladesh

A Jermaine Blackwood ton guided host Sagicor High Performance Centre (SHPC) of West Indies to take overall 457 runs lead against visiting Bangladesh A team on the third day of their 2nd four-day match at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados Wednesday, reports UNB.

On the third day, SHPC resumed the second innings (354 in 1st innings) with overnight 24/0 in 16 overs and declared at 354 for 5 in 94 overs.

One down Jermaine Blackwood scored 147 runs off 157 balls with 12 fours and 5 sixes before he was caught by Nurul Hasan off a Shuvagata Hom delivery.

In the 2nd wicket stand, J Blackwood pairing with Assad Fudadin contributed 207 runs in 53 overs to carry the team total to 236 for 2 in 69.5 overs.

Night watch batsman, also the opener, Assad Fudadin (8) scored 89 runs off 235 balls with seven fours and a six while Leon Johnson added unbeaten 63 runs off 75 balls with six fours and two sixes.

Chadwick Walton (20), Carlos Brathwaite (not out 18) and Jonathan Carter (13) were the other notable scorers for SHPC.

Nasir Hossain took two wickets for 52 runs while Muktar Ali, Shuvagata Hom and Taijul Islam took one wicket each.

Bangladesh opened the second innings (219 in 1st innings) and scored 32 for 3 in 10 overs, at stumps on the third day.

Imrul Kayes and Mominul Haque remained unbeaten on 13 and 0 runs while Shamsur Rahman added 9 runs.

Sheldon Cottrell grabbed two wickets for 14 runs while Miguel Cummins took one for 14 runs.
