The first phase of the First Security Islami Bank National School Hockey Tournament concluded at the Maulana Bhasani National Stadium in the city Wednesday with six teams moving to the final round, reports UNB.
Chairman of the First Security Islami Bank (FSIB) National School Hockey Tournament Dr Mahfuzur Rahman was the chief guest at the day's closing function and distributed prizes.
Head of Marketing and Development of FSIB Azam Khan, Adviser of ATN Bangla Col (retd) Mir Motahar Hasan, General Secretary of Bangladesh Hockey Federation Khwaja Rahmatullah and tournament secretary ANM Mamun-ur-Rashid were present at the function.
The teams which assured the final round berth from the first phase are: Zinjira PM Pilot High School, Fatullah Pilot High School, Ahmed Bawani Academy School and College, Nabab Habibullah School, BAF Shaheen School and College, and Armanitola Govt High School.
In the day's matches, BAF Shaheen School and College crushed Narayanganj High School 6-0; Nabab Habibullah High School beat Shaheed Nabi High School 1-0; Harinal High School outclassed Dania Barnamala Adarsha High School 5-0; and Narayanganj Hariharpara School defeated Rayer Bazar High School 4-0 at the same venue.
The final round matches of the tournament will begin on March 7 at the Maulana Bhasani National Stadium.
