Former Bangladesh champions Sheikh Russell KC will leave Dhaka today (Thursday) for Colombo to take part in the final round of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President's Cup that will begin Saturday (Sept 20) at the Sugathadasa Stadium in the Sri Lankan capital, reports UNB.
Sheikh Russell KC will start their AFC campaign taking on Erchim Football Club of Mongolia Saturday at 1:00 pm (Sri Lanka Time).
In the other opening day's fixture, Sri Lanka Air Force SC will meet Manang Marshyangdi Club of Nepal at 4:00 pm at the same venue.
In all, six teams-split into two groups-will compete in the final round in the continental soccer meet.
Group A - Sri Lanka Air Force Sporting Club, Manang Marshyangdi Club of Nepal and FC HTTU of Turkmenistan.
Group B - Sheikh Russell KC of Bangladesh, Erchim FC of Mongolia and Rimyongsu Club of DPRK.
In the remaining final round matches Monday (Sept 22), Erchim FC will face Rimyongsu Club in the first match at 1:00 pm while FC HTTU will meet Marshyangdi Club at 4:00 pm.
On Sept 24 (Wednesday), Sheikh Russell KC will play their 2nd match against Rimyongsu Club at 1:00 pm while Sri Lanka Air Force SC will face FC HTTU at 4:00 pm.
Two group champions will play in the final on September 26 at 4:00 pm. All matches will be held at the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo.
