SL Dev Squad take lead

Visiting Sri Lanka Development Squad took massive 375-run lead over GP-BCB National Cricket Academy team after dismissing the hosts cheaply for 164 in the first innings on the third day of the first of 2 four-day matches at the Bir Shrestho Shaheed Ruhul Amin Stadium in Chittagong Tuesday, reports UNB.
Replying to Sri Lanka's huge first innings total of 423 runs, the home side resumed the first innings with overnight 118 for 6 and were bundled out for 164 runs, adding only 46 runs on the 3rd day.
Nightwatch batsman Arafat Salahuddin (18) remained not out at 45 with three fours and three sixes while another batsman Farhad Hossain, who resumed batting with 13 runs, folded his innings at 17 with one boundary.
Besides, opener Jahirul Islam scored 32 runs and wicketkeeper Sahagir Hossain made 31.
Nuwan Pradeep, Suranga Lakmal and Suraj Mohammad grabbed two wickets each for 23, 29 and 69 runs respectively.
In reply, Sri Lanka Development Squad opened the 2nd innings Tuesday and declared at 178 for 9 in 45.1 overs.
Lower order batsman Siriwardane scored 64 runs with six fours and three sixes while Suranga Lakmal made not out 26.
Rabiul Islam, Shafiul Islam and Saqlain Sajib claimed three wickets each for 37, 39 and 65 runs respectively.
In reply, Bangladesh opened their 2nd innings and scored 62 for 1 in 26 overs when bells were drawn for the 3rd day, Tuesday.
Nasiruddin Faruq and Sahagir Hossain were batting with 33 and 1 runs.
